“He shall teach you all things.” (John 14:26)

As we celebrate Teacher’s Appreciation Week, this is the perfect Gospel for the Catholic Lay teachers among us today!

Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja kicked off Teacher’s Appreciation Week on May 1 through 5.

“Last week is very special at ESFDB because it’s Teacher’s Appreciation Week,” said administrator-principal Carmen H. Atalig. “I want our students to take the opportunity to thank all their teachers. We have a great Catholic school in the Luta community and it’s because of our Catholic Lay teachers.”

Atalig added, “I get asked over and over what makes ESFDB a great Catholic school, and I answer that it’s the teachers. A teacher’s day doesn’t end when the bell rings at dismissal. They still have to plan out their work and correct your work. They are so dedicated to their profession because of you, the students. Thank you teachers for all you do.”

“This is a week to share and express gratitude for our teachers, for all the work they do, all of their loving patience, and their constant investment into each child and each family at ESFDB,” said Parent Teacher Organization president Imelda Marie H. Atalig.

During the week, parents and students gave flowers, Thank You cards, fruits and vegetables baskets, and thanks to some parent volunteers who manned the classrooms while teachers take a break to enjoy some treats courtesy of the parents, Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig & Rota First Lady Linda Atalig, 16th Rota Municipal Council, Tita A. Hocog, and Rosita A. Hocog & family.

“A huge thank you to our parents and all of you who continue to encourage and value our ESFDB teachers and Catholic community,” said student council president Jeremy John Atalig II. “Our teacher’s have done lots of amazing things in our school.”

Mary Rose Lucero, 3rd – 5th grade class adviser said, “The week truly does make me feel appreciated. Million thanks to the parents and students.”

To culminate the week, the teachers and parents played a game of volleyball followed by a simple “mirenda” provided by the parents.

The administration, faculty, staff, students, and board of directors would like to extend their appreciation to all who celebrated Teacher’s Appreciation Week with the ESFDB family. Thank you, Un Sen Dangkulo Na Si Yu’us Ma’ase, Maraming Salamat Po, and Olommway! Happy Teacher’s Appreciation Week!
