Every year the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa is sending financial support to the Congregation for the Eastern Churches to help in the works of the Catholic Church to the Christians living in Holy Land.  This is made possible through the generous contributions of every parishioner during the Good Friday veneration of the Cross.

This particular collection helps fund educational and ecclesial projects in the Middle East and supports ministries and programs of the Holy See.  Among these are:

  • Preservation of shrines connected with the life of Jesus and the prophets
  • Provide senior care facilities in Bethlehem and Nazareth
  • Help keep schools open for pre-K through grade 12 students
  • Support the formation of priests and brothers

This year the total amount collected is $4,387.62 coming from the parishioners of:

San Jude Parish$ 781.00
Mt. Carmel Cathedral$ 721.01
San Vicente Parish$ 575.25
