As the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa transitions from the grace-filled Jubilee Year of 2025 into a new season, we carry with us a renewed sense of hope. In his message to the faithful, Most Rev. Romeo D. Convocar, D.D., Bishop of Chalan Kanoa, has officially ushered in 2026 as the “Year of Revival for Youth Ministry.” To celebrate this milestone, the Official 2026 Diocesan Calendar has been released, bearing the inspiring theme: “Young Pilgrims of Hope: Reviving the Flame of Faith.”

A Canvas of Devotion

This year’s calendar is much more than a tracker of dates; it is a showcase of the vibrant spiritual lives of our young people. In a special initiative, the Diocese invited youth from various parishes to contribute original paintings to accompany each month of the liturgical year.

Bishop Romeo describes these contributions as “visual meditations” that reflect the youth’s personal encounters with God. From the Lenten journey to the joy of the Resurrection, each painting serves as a window into the hearts of our young pilgrims.

“These sacred artworks remind us that beauty is a pathway to the Divine and that the gifts of our young people can lead others to contemplation and worship.” — Bishop Romeo D. Convocar

Fanning the Flame of Faith

Drawing inspiration from St. Paul’s exhortation to “Fan into flame the gift of God that is within you” (2 Timothy 1:6), the calendar highlights the role of the youth as the “beating heart” of the Church. By featuring their art, the Diocese acknowledges that the flame of faith is often kept bright through creativity, joy, and purpose.

Through these paintings, the youth of Chalan Kanoa are not just observers of the faith—they are active missionary disciples, using their talents to help the entire community encounter the Lord through the rhythm of prayer and worship.

A Spiritual Companion for Every Home

The 2026 Diocesan Calendar is designed to be a spiritual companion for families across the CNMI. As you flip through the months, you are encouraged to:

  • Reflect on the monthly liturgical feasts and solemnities.
  • Appreciate the diverse artistic styles and expressions of our local youth.
  • Pray for the continued revival of youth ministry in our parishes.

As we journey through this new year, let the artwork of our young pilgrims remind us that our faith is alive, creative, and ever-growing.
