“PUSHER”

Despite being bashed and criticized, Jesus pushed his agenda with or without public approval, to tell the truth, the truth that he is the Son of God, the truth about his mission to save the world, the truth about God’s love for sinful humanity, the truth about the stubbornness and close heartedness of the Pharisees and his enemies to believe in his words.

He pushed for the sanctity of marriage while the Pharisees believed in divorce. They told Jesus that Moses permitted a man to write a bill of divorce and send his wife away. (Mk. 10: But Jesus said; “What God has joined together, man must not separate.” (Mk. 10: 1-12). Jesus pushed for forgiveness; “If you forgive others their trespasses, God will also you yours” (Mt. 6:25-16), while the old law prescribed revenge. Jesus said; you’ve heard that it was said; “An eye for eye, a tooth for a tooth.” But I say to you, do not resist the one who is evil. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other one also.” (Mt. 38-39).

Are you a pusher? Pushing for your self-vested agenda and benefit? Are you a pusher of gossip, drugs, lies and deception? Are you an online pusher of immoral promiscuity? Reverse your equation and be a pusher of goodness, honesty, compassion, transparency, commitment and fear of God.

There’s a story about a man who was depressed over his serious illness, but his wife pushed him hard to fight it out and take courage. He survived and lived. Whom have you pushed to keep on when times are tough and life-threatening, whom have you pushed to overcome bad habits into admirable character? They say that behind someone’s triumph is a man or woman who keeps pushing despite setbacks and debacles. Have you pushed for the good of your neighbor, your organization, your church or your family? Be a pusher of hope to the hopeless, peace amidst conflict, good governance, and accountability against corruption, honesty against cheating and good stewardship of things entrusted to you. Push Jesus’ agenda of love and mercy wherever you are and whenever you can. His Divine Mercy is on the priority of his list, let it be our own too.

On the flip side, someone said that, that the things you’re passionate about are not random, they’re your calling. When we strive to become better, than we are, everything around us becomes better too. There’s challenge more challenging than to challenge to improve yourself. Be busy improving yourself so you won’t have time criticizing others. If you want something you never had, you’ve to do something you’ve never done. Stop keeping tracts of the mistakes you made. It’s time to ask God for forgiveness and to forgive yourself. Take risks; if you win you’ll be happy, if you lose, you’ll be wise. Hate nothing and no one no matter how much they’ve wronged you, for that’s how God does to you.

Amen on that folks!! St. Faustina wrote Jesus’ words: “I’m sad when souls ask for little, when they narrow their hearts.” (Diary 1578). Pray the Divine Mercy every 3 pm. daily pray the Chaplet of Mercy and the Holy Rosary for peace in our families and in the world.
