NOW NOT LATER

One of the chronic sleazy modes of action many people do is procrastinating. “ Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today”. (Benjamin Franklin). Many good chances are gone due to sleazy course of action. A friend lost job opportunity for loafing and someone missed an airline company’s cheap fare promotion by lingering around. Opportunity knocks but once and If it comes grab it before you regret.

Continue to be good for your goodness is like sunshine that brightens up the world. If you have chance to do good to your neighbor do it now and not next time for it may never come. Strive to be a better person you are today than yesterday.

If you can, visit places, join pilgrimages, see the world, met people, enjoy scenic landscapes, immerse yourself in various cultural ambiance and have fun. Don’t get caught up by your physical or mental geriatrics. If you have means, go! St. Augustine said that; “ The world is a book, and those who don’t travel only read a page. “

On other notes, if you err, don’t punish yourself by regrets and worry, instead strive to do it better next time around. Nobody is perfect but anybody can improve. Don’t despise others, for the things that you see as objectionable in them, are exactly what they see as objectionable in you. If you have the opportunity to lift up someone’s waning spirit or convey good compliment, do it now not later. Be stingy with criticism, but generous with praises.

Be merciful and compassionate for you reflect God’s face. If we take mercy and compassion out from the Gospels, we can never understand Jesus.

Be generous, share the blessings of the Lord, “ Freely you have received, freely you have to give”.( Mt. 10:8) . Don’t wait for Christmas or New Year to give and share. Don’t count the cost, but put more love and joy in giving. The Divine Mercy-St. John Paul 11 chapel in Astumbo, Dededo, will soon be finished, thanks to our generous donors, above all, thanks be to God. The Bible says; “ Do not say to your neighbor, “ Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”- when you have it with you.”. ( Prov. 3:28).

On further note, repent now and don’t wait for tomorrow or next Lent Season , discard bitterness and anger from your heart now to create space for peace and joy.

On the flip side, someone said that no one is ever lost to be saved by God’s Amazing Grace and don’t forget to thank God for keeping you safe through the night and every time you awaken to see a beautiful new day. Forget the things that make you sad. Remember the moments that make you glad. Forget the troubles that passed away and accept the blessings that come along your way. The worst person to be around is the one who always complains about everything and appreciates nothing. “ In everything give thanks “. ( Thes. 5:8). “ God has made everything beautiful in His time”. ( Ecclesiastes 3:11). Faith does not make things easy, it makes things possible”( Lk. 1:37). Amen on that folks!!.

In her Diary St. Faustina wrote Jesus’ words: “ You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it. ( Diary 742.)
