EYES OF OUR HEARTS

Matters of the heart do matter, still matter and will always matter especially in our world so complicated with business matters, internet, gadgets, conflicts, armed and cyber wars, political and religious power-struggle for positions and possessions, and other distractions. The Lord commanded His disciples to love one another as He loves them. Human love tends to be selfish and self-serving. God’s love is selfless and nourishing. Jesus’ brand of love must be the model of our love. It is from the heart and not from the mind. The mind defines what love is but doesn’t feel it. Sometimes the heart has a reason which reason cannot understand. Find a time to connect your heart with Jesus’ heart, and care for the matters of the heart. When you hear people boasting, just pray for them, they don’t know what they are saying. It’s better to give a piece of your heart than a piece of your mind.

When the eyes of our hearts have been enlightened to see the immeasurable love and mercy of God on us, we cannot but preach the Gospel to others. When we realize His forgiving heart over our sins and ingratitude against Him, we cannot help but get to knees in repentance and thanksgiving for His deep love and mercy for us. This is what drove the Apostles to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth even in martyrdom inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Like the Apostles we too can preach the Gospel by how we live our life in many little ways like a simple deed of mercy, a little gesture of kindness, encouraging going through difficult times, being understanding, and other little things that will reflect God’s image through us. In our little ways, we can participate in the mission of the Church. The Apostles went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through accompanying signs. ( Mk. 16:20).

Today is May 13, 2018, the anniversary of the apparition of Our lady of Fatima.  The month of May is the month of Mary. Let us pray to her that we live in peace and harmony with each other. Let’s pray for her maternal guidance on the youth and the lost.

Today also is Mother’s Day. We pray for our mother and remember with gratitude in our heart for all that she does for us. Never hurt your Mom. Nothing is more painful than the tears in her eyes. For mothers who had passed on, may they enjoy eternal joy and peace with God.

On the flip side, someone opined that you surround yourself with those on the same mission as you. God is able to give us the wisdom we need in our lives. The grass wherein the flower grows will fade, but the Word of God will stand forever. Sometimes we ask God to change our situation but He puts us in that situation to change us. God will make a way when here’s seems to be no way. Kindness makes you the most beautiful person in the world no matter how you look like. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up. Remember that every Saint has a past and every sinner has a future. Amen on that folks!!

St. Faustina wrote Jesus’ words; “ My Heart overflows with compassion and mercy for all”. ( Diary 1148).

Pray the Divine Mercy every 3 p.m. Daily recite the Chaplet of Mercy for peace in our families and in the world.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
