“Purihin ang Panginoon” means “Praise God!” This is the song that everyone sings after a prayer delivered by an assigned preacher in El Shaddai. Indeed, praise God for His guidance and protection for 25 years in existence of El Shaddai prayer partner here in Saipan. According to Sister Rica, a founding member of El Shaddai Saipan Chapter, it started as a bible study at the restaurant of Ning and Mike Gonzales. As the number of members grew, the group decided to do the prayer meeting at the house parking lot of the Gonzales family.
Sister Rica, who is also a member of El Shaddai community in the Philippines, recommended that the group be connected to El Shaddai prayer partner in Philippines. The group agreed and sent Bro. Joey Tianzon to Saipan to spearhead the El Shaddai fellowship on island. Bro. Joey took the initiative to go to El Shaddai Philippines to make arrangements to have a disciple come to Saipan to start El Shaddai Saipan. The first El Shaddai preacher who was sent to Saipan was a nephew of Bro. Mike Velarde named Bro. Sammy. From then on, members of El Shaddai residing in Saipan joined the ministry and the ministry members grew rapidly.
Bro. Sammy saw that the facility was no longer capable of accommodating all prayer partners, so the group decided to ask San Antonio church to accommodate the El Shaddai ministry. The Pastor at that time was Fr. Roque, who eventually became the first spiritual director of El Shaddai. This became the origin of the foundation of El Shaddai- Saipan.
We, the members of the El Shaddai Charismatic Community, are full of gratitude for all the graces which our Faithful and Almighty God has showered upon us. With great jubilation, we are happy to announce that this year marks our 25th Year Anniversary with the theme: Celebrating 25 Years of Grace and Faithfulness (“If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13), here in this beautiful Island of Saipan.
The 25th celebration of El Shaddai will be held this October 13, 2019 at San Antonio Parish. Presentation, praise, and worship will begin at 4:00PM to 5:45PM. Celebration of the mass will begin at 6:00PM followed by a Healing message.
