Disconnection to connection

It was a global Breaking News on Friday, April 27, 2018 when North Korean leader Kim Jong Un walked across the demilitarized zone border separating North and South Korea to meet South Korean President Moon Jae-in. According to the news, it was an unprecedented historic meeting of two Korean Heads since the 1950-53 Korean War. As Kim stepped into the South, he invited Moon to set foot in the North for a moment. The southern Korean leader obliged before Kim crossed back into the South. They shook hands, hugged each other with big smiles, held hands up together and continued holding hands as they crossed the military line between the two countries. For long time, North Korea’s relationship with the  world was disconnected for some reasons. It was said that Kim Jong Un signed the building house guest book with these words; ” A new history begins now at the starting point of an era of peace”. With mixed emotions the whole world watched this historic and epic moment in the history of mankind.

In the Acts of the Apostles, Saul’s persecution of Christians disconnected him from God’s people. Hit by a bright light on his way to Damascus to persecute believers, he fell to the ground, heard that said; “ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”. Who are you Sir? He asked. “ I am Jesus whom you are persecuting”. Now get up, go into the city and someone will tell you what to do.”. His companions who heard the voice were speechless. Saul was blinded but was healed later. Through Divine intervention he was connected with the Lord.  Now named Paul, he became a tireless preacher of the Lord especially to the Gentiles. ( Acts 9:1-20).

Peter disconnected himself from Lord by denial, the apostles by abandonment and Thomas by doubting Him. They all connected back to the Lord by their repentance.

Are you disconnected from anyone because of your attitude? Start reconnecting with humility, love, mercy and prayer.

Are you disconnected from God by sins and lack of trust in Him? God is merciful. Go back to His heart for He welcomes everyone .

We live in an era of unprecedented “connectedness” and “ disconnection”. Today’s social media gadgets can instantly connect you with anyone in the world.  Ironically same technology can disconnect us from each other and distract us from our primary and vital connection, our life with Jesus. Two people in a room, each busy texting are disconnected. They’re near yet far from one another.

Christ said, “ I am the Vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in Me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without Me you can do nothing. ( John 15: 1-8).

As peace brews between North Korea and South Korea, let peace begin among us. The kind of Peace that Jesus gives, for it will last forever.

On the flip side, someone said that people will throw stones at you. Don’t throw them back, but collect them all and build a house. God will put you back together right in front of the people that broke you. Forget the day’s troubles. Remember the day’s blessings. Practice random acts of kindness. Sometimes you face difficulties not because you’re doing wrong, but because you’re doing something right. Amen on that folks!!

St. Faustna wrote Jesus’ words: “ The inner peace that you have is a grace”. ( Diary 673).

Pray the Divine Mercy every 3 p.m. Daily recite the Chaplet of Mercy and the Holy Rosary for peace in our families and in the world.
