The Diocese of Chalan Kanoa is celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Concepcion on Monday, December 9, 2019 with the Solemn Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral. Novena will begin at 3:30 pm followed by the Solemn Mass which will be presided by Bishop Ryan Jimenez and concelebrated by the clergy of the diocese.

December 8 is the traditional date of the Immaculate Concepcion, however, this year December 8th falls on the Second Sunday of Advent and Sunday always supersedes all other feasts. This is the reason why the liturgical calendar moves the Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion Monday, the following day.

Once again, the students and staff of Mount Carmel School will take the lead in the liturgy. Immediately after the Mass, there will be the traditional Lukao around Chalan Kanoa in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

During the procession, the techas and those who are not able to join the procession will lead the recitation of the Holy Rosary in the Cathedral and will broadcasted live via KKMP radio station. Speakers tuned into the broadcasted rosary will accompany the procession and will be placed also along the route so that everyone can follow along and pray the rosary as one.

Through this, we also hope that those who are elderly or sick at home will be able to follow along the recitation of the Rosary and will be able to pray and participate in the procession from their homes.

Those who wants to bring their portable radio are encouraged to do so. Everyone is also encouraged to bring candles(preferably glass candle) to be used during the tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary after the procession.
