Corona and Crown same but different

The salvo of cheers and reveries all over the world welcoming the New Year 2020 just couple of months ago is now suffused with scare and pandemonium with the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). More than 3,000 have died worldwide, 89,000 infected in dozens of countries and still counting according to the World Health Organization’s review as of March 3, 2020 to date.

This plague dwarfed past epidemics like SARS and others by leaps and bounds with no cure so far. While the world is trending on economic market, technology, fashion, migration, nuclear armaments, politics, etc. it was caught off-guard and pressed down by single deadly virus called “corona” from Wuhan, China that metamorphosed into a global viral monster now. People panic and seek all kinds of measures to avoid the “sentence of death” which is imminent when one gets infected.

In the same token, by a stroke of a single sin of pride and disobedience by our first parents against God the purity of life is shattered resulting unimaginable onslaught of pain, suffering and eventually death.

As the world is doused with CORONA during these critical times, Jesus took the CROWN of suffering upon himself to disinfect humanity of its wounds of sin as he walks with us during this Lenten journey towards Easter where light will dispel darkness and the glory and power of God revealed in His Resurrection.

Don’t be caught off-guard by the devil’s deceitful lure of fame, power and money as it did to Jesus in the desert to disrupt our relationship with God and weaken our faith. No temptation is strong and no CORONA will prevail against Jesus’ CROWN with our trust in his Divine Mercy and power. Whereas the CORONA INFECTS, THE CROWN DISINFECTS.

On the flip side, someone said that the cross is not an ornament, or mere symbol. It’s the mystery of God’s love and mercy that he died for our sins. The ashes means that I’m a sinner. A cross means that I have a merciful Savior. Listening to people’s needs is listening to God. Never let a bad situation bring out the worst in you. Choose to stay positive and be the strong person that God created you to be. Morning is God’s way of saying one more time, go make a difference, touch a heart, encourage a mind, inspire a soul and enjoy the day. Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. Be the reason someone smiles today. A beautiful heart will bring things into your life that all the money in the world couldn’t get you. The worst person to be around is someone who complains about everything and appreciates nothing. People who feel an urge to correct other people’s grammar are suffering a form of GPS (Grammar Pedantry Syndrome). Think happy thoughts and they will shine through your face like sunbeams. Sometimes we lose ourselves for a while and that’s okay. It’s all a part of learning. Just make sure your comeback is stronger than your setback. Amen on that folks!!

St. Faustina wrote Jesus’ words; “True greatness of the soul is in loving God and in humility.” (Diary 427).

Pray the Divine Mercy every 3 p.m. Daily pray for peace and protection from CORONAVIRUS.
