Watering The Plants

Someone shared the story of a wife asking her husband who was outside in the yard watering the plants to come inside for she wants to ask him about what she found in his cellphone. Up to now her husband is still in the yard watering the plants.

The Lord told his disciples that the harvest is abundant but the laborers are few. (Lk 10: 2), to cure the sick and proclaim that the kingdom of God is at hand. (Lk. 10: 9), that repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem and that they’re witnesses to all these things. (Lk. 24; 47-48). As it were, the disciples were to keep on “Watering the Plants”.

He didn’t leave them like orphans, but empowered them, and so are we in Confirmation when the Holy Spirit strengthens us to witness to our faith, show good example through love, joy, mercy, compassion, kindness, service, generosity and faithfulness. We pray that through our good work and behavior, we leave something in the hearts of our friends and loved ones after we leave this world.

Two friends of mine passed away recently but their passing left happy memories of joyful pilgrimage in Europe, devotion, service, music, and friendliness among other things. Some are enthused in preparing for retirement other plans in life, but what about making an exit plan from this earth? May we empower our loved ones when we go and not leave them empty or desolate.

Continue “watering the plants” with good example to your children, faithfulness to your spouse, care to your parents, respect to everyone, generosity and charity.

Furthermore, keep on “ watering the plants” by enhancing harmonious relationships, bringing peace and good will to people, putting smile on their  faces, sharing your blessings with the impoverished, lifting up the downtrodden, consoling the bereaved, being a good neighbor and a good leader.

“Watering the plants” is a good plan each day and thank God for the opportunity. Stop punishing yourself by worrying over things that don’t happen anyway. Be kind to yourself with positive and pleasant thoughts. Listen to music or dance. Music is a good therapy and dancing a good exercise. Add laughter to this menu and you get a set meal for good health”. For holistic benefits, add prayer and meditation.

On the flip side, someone said that the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. Life is fragile. We’re not guaranteed a tomorrow, so give it everything you’ve got. When someone is nasty or treats you poorly, don’t take it personally. It says nothing about you, but a lot about that person. The people in your life should be a source of reducing your stress, not causing more of it. Life doesn’t require that we be the best, only that we try our best. Communicate even when it’s uncomfortable. Stop worrying about what you have to lose and start focusing on what you have to gain. Sometimes, we don’t see our flaws until we meet someone else who acts the same way. You can’t always be nice. That’s how people take advantage of you. Sometimes you have to set boundaries. Don’t fear the enemy that attacks you, but fear the fake friend who hugs you. Don’t abuse a kind heart. You may never be offered one again. Amen on that folks!!

St. Faustina wrote Jesus words; “Proclaim that mercy is the greatest attribute of God.” (Diary 301).

Pray the Divine Mercy every 3 p.m. Daily pray the Chaplet of Mercy and the Holy Rosary for peace in our families and in the world.
