Washing of the hands with water more often is highly recommended especially nowadays as a precautionary measure with the global pandemic outbreak of Coronavirus in more than one hundred countries says the news. Approximately, up to 60% of an adult human body is water. Studies show that we can’t survive more than three days without water. “Salutem per aquam” is a Latin phrase for “ health through water.” Some theorize that it’s the etymology of Spa.
Jesus used water to strike a friendly conversation with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well when he asked her for a drink that shocked her. The Jews had nothing to do with Samaritans, but Jesus broke this taboo for good reason, offered her a different kind of water which would satisfy both body and soul. The woman was flabbergasted when Jesus mentioned about her variegated past and slowly realized that she is facing not just an ordinary person but a prophet. She said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet. (John: 4:15). Jesus patiently opens up her faith to see that is the Messiah who would save humankind. Her encounter with Jesus went viral that everyone longed to see him. It was an episode that reeled from water to eternal life, from a listener to an evangelizer. The Lord too is patient with us and lightens up our life.
Faith is God’s gift. It’s sad when a member deviates from the family’s traditional faith say as Catholic. The pain stems from the fact that we love that person. Parents pray hard to keep the entire family’s faith at bay. Someone diagnosed with serious illness struggles in faith to pray. A wife prays with faith to bring back her husband, or a mother her child. An organization suffers when it’s divided with some members in constant opposition to the common good. Faith is something that we both keep and share.
On the flip side, someone said that in the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take, relationships we’re afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long. It’s hard to wait for something you know might never happen. But it’s harder to give up knowing it’s everything you want. Sometimes your circle decreases in size, but increases in value. Your little family is the best team you could ever have. Never stop being a good person because of bad people. The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit. Most of all let love guide your life. You will never look into the eyes of someone God doesn’t love. Always be kind. A river cuts through the rock not because of its power, but it’s persistence. Leadership is based on inspiration, not domination; on cooperation, not intimidation. Amen on that folks!!
St. Faustina wrote Jesus’ words; ” I have need of your sufferings to rescue souls.” ( Diary 1612).
