Upset and Set Up

Do you easily get UPSET even over little things? If you do, it’s because you only think about yourself, your comfort and what pleases you, unmindful of others. You allow yourself to be SET UP by the evil one, you fall prey to pride and arrogance. Furthermore, people who get easily upset are immature, hard to please, annoying and destroy the good atmosphere of camaraderie. They project negativity and impatience. They are not peaceful and are inconsiderate.

Instead of being UPSET, allow yourself to be SET UP by the Lord, focus on his gentleness and mercy, listen to the dictate of good reason in your conscience and feeling of compassion in your heart. Spend quiet moments in the Blessed Sacrament, in your room, in the yard or any place where you can meditate or reflect on the goodness of God in your life despite some set-backs and sickness that you have.

Do you carry a heavy luggage of frustration and regret that pester you day and night, wherever you are and wherever you go? Ask the Lord to carry it for you. Remember he carried the cross for you. Are you bothered by some repercussions of traumatic experiences of your sad and ugly past? Keep still, pause and listen to Jesus who said; “Don’t  let your hearts be troubled, believe in God and believe also in me.” (John 14:1). Jesus commanded the storm in the sea of Galilee to calm down, he too can calm your anxiety and fear. Read the Bible and listen to what God’s word.

Pray hard and love more instead of being angry and UPSET. Be kind and generous to others and that would bring healing and peace. Nothing is heavy if carried with love and humility and nothing is impossible if we trust the Lord. People who volunteer to carry other people’s burdens experience lightness and joy, and they don’t feel burdened because Jesus helps them carry the weight. Ask Jesus to recycle your messy past into a fresh new day.

On the flip side, someone said that God is not punishing you, he is preparing you, trust his plan not your pain. No prayer is too small for the Lord. Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. (Mt. 21:22). Don’t let your emotions be your decision maker. Stop and pray, let God lead you. He can change everything. God will make away when there seems to be no way. When we are powerless to do a thing, it is a great joy that we come and step inside the ability of Jesus. Faith is the courage to let God have the control. Train your mind to hear what God whispers and not what the enemy may be shouting. Remember that God works in his time not yours. Have patience. Never doubt what one prayer can do. With God nothing is impossible. Amen on that folks!

St. Faustina wrote Jesus’ words; “If your trust is great, my generosity is without limt.”( Diary 548). Pray the Divine Mercy every 3 p.m. Daily pray the Chaplet of Mercy and the Holy Rosary for peace in our families and in the world.
