Today we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. This Feast Day was introduced into the Liturgical Year of the Church in order to draw people to contemplate, give thanks for and enter into the great mercy of God through the Resurrection of His Son, Jesus.
During this day we are invited to consider…
… that God showers us with mercy,
… that God asks us to extend mercy to others,
… that the humble and the meek get first placein the Kingdom of God,
… that we are tasked with a responsibility to pray and to act in imitation of God’s mercy, And finally,
… that the Holy Spirit will help us all along the way.
All year long the Church reminds us to serve Christ in the poorest and smallest members of our community–whether it is sick persons or children
or the most marginalized and forgotten ones among us. We are to prioritize spiritual and corporal works of mercy, in imitation of God who is Love and Mercy.
On this Feast of Divine Mercy let us spend some extra time with our families considering God’s great gifts and the abundance of graces God pours into our lives. Let us ask the Lord to help us live this mystery more deeply and show us how to go about doing this well.
God bless you all,
The Karidat Team
