The San Francisco de Borja fiesta is a popular way people on Rota share their faith, culture, and tradition. An event typically tied to the celebration of the island’s patron saint, Mass and a procession are followed by a fiesta, which is a great way for visitors to Rota to enjoy local tastes shared with warm hospitality.
After the Mass, procession, and veneration on October 7, members of the community gathered for a potluck dinner and entertainment at the Chamorro Village.
Diocese of Chalan Kanoa Vicar General Rev. Fr. Kenneth J. Hezel joined the people of Rota in celebrating the island’s patron saint.
This year’s fiesta chairman is once again Rota’s native and U.S. Army combat veteran Edward C. Barcinas.
Rev. Fr. Sid Ogumoro, extends his appreciation to the fiesta chairman, the Pastoral Council, all families, friends, and devotees for their generosity and participation in this year’s fiesta.
Biba San Francisco de Borja! Biba!
