The Youth Ministry of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral is holding its First Annual Sports Fest on July 14 and 15, 2017. This sporting event is open to all the parishes in Saipan.

Edward S. Dela Cruz, the coordinator of Mt. Carmel Ministry Youth Ministry expressed how this event is meant to foster a healthy and friendly competition between the youths in the parishes and bring them closer through sportsmanship. Unlike the Inter-parochial Basketball league which was done three years ago, this Sports Fest will have various sporting events such as basketball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee as well as a 5K running event.

The formal opening of the Sports Fest and the welcoming of participants will be held on Friday, July 14th at 8 AM. The different sporting events will commence shortly after the opening ceremony and will continue the following day, July 15th. All the events will be held at Mt. Carmel School ground.

All parishes are encouraged to have at least 12 and no more than 36 participants from ages 12 – 21, including young professionals, out of school youth, altar servers, and pre-confirmation and confirmation students. There is no registration fee and the teams can utilize the parish shirts which was used during last year’s Youth Camp in San Roque. Each participating parish is responsible to bring food and drinks for their youth participants.

For more information, please contact the main coordinator, Edward S. Dela Cruz Jr at (670) 287-0891 edwardjrdlc@gmail.com.
