Through the collective effort of the campus minister and members of the theology department, the Mount Carmel School Chapel has been reopened with new features to ensure compliance with safety guidelines set by the COVID-19 Taskforce and Mount Carmel School’s policies and procedures. Students, faculty, and MCS community members are now welcome to use the chapel for their spiritual needs during these unprecedented times.

The initial blessing of the chapel was led by Bishop Ryan P. Jimenez of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa in 2016.

Mount Carmel School’s Campus Minister Mr. Viriglio Abueme shared, “We must consider the chapel as the center of the sacraments and spirituality at Mount Carmel School. Due to the pandemic, how we practice our faith has changed, but we wanted to re-establish this space on campus where students and employees can turn to enrich their faith and connection with our Lord and savior.”

“I am extremely grateful for the members of our campus ministry for making the school chapel available for our community again,” shared MCS president Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero. “While we can no longer hold Friday masses or rosaries as an entire school body, having the school chapel available during these challenging times is essential.”

The Mount Carmel School chapel is open from 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Masks or face shields must be worn and temperatures will be checked accordingly.
