In an effort to raise much-needed funds and spread the Christmas spirit, Mount Carmel School recently launched a new program called the Mount Carmel School Holiday Coupon Fundraiser.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to provide the community with a complete booklet of holiday coupons from local establishments. As the COVID-19 pandemic has affected many families and the CNMI economy, this fundraiser also aims to provide families with discounts for this holiday season while also drawing customers to local businesses.

Funds raised by this program will be directly invested in Mount Carmel School’s academic programs and services, COVID-19 mitigation resources, and infrastructural improvements as the school aims to increase more face-to-face classes by its second semester.

Only 200 booklets are available for purchase and can be bought at the MCS Business Office from Monday to Friday between 7am and 4pm.

The $50 holiday coupon booklet contains a total of 35 coupons with discounts from partners like Bubba Gump, Couples Cakery, Fishing Tackle, Great Harvest, Herman’s Modern Bakery, Hong Ye Hardware, IT&E, Kensington Resort, Kiki’s, McDonald’s Saipan, MiscKnicKnacks, Natural Nail Spa, Pao Pao, Surf Club Restaurant, T Bar, The Shack, Tribe Marianas, and Triple J Motors. Participants of the fundraiser can save over $200 this holiday season through the provided discounts alone.

Mount Carmel School President Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero shared, “We are very excited to have launched this new program to help the school, but what’s especially exciting for us is to be providing our community with this opportunity to spread the Christmas spirit and make the gift of giving affordable during the holidays.”

The school’s Director of Institutional Development Ms. Victoria Deleon Guerrero shared the importance of the fundraiser not just for the school, but also for the CNMI economy. “I believe what this pandemic has made clear to us as a community is that an investment in local businesses is what will continue to keep our economy afloat. While our tourism market is on hold, we need to support local businesses and support families.”
