One of the most celebrated feast in Luta, the Feast Day of San Isidro who is the Sinapalu Village patron saint as well as the patron saint of farmers.
The celebration of the Feast of San Isidro Labrador started with a novena on May 12 and concluded in the evening of May 19.
The fiesta was organized in cooperation with the Church parish council and the island’s faithful’s.
His Excellency Most Reverend Ryan Jimenez, Bishop of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa was the main Presider of the concelebrated Holy Eucharist, together with Rev. Fr. Isidro Ogumoro, parish priest.
During the offertory procession, traditional symbols of San Isidro grown by the farmers presented fruits.
Eskuelan San Francisco de Borja and Credo Domine Choir filled the celebration with their beautiful angelic voices. The choir was led by the musical talent of Mary Rose Lucero.
More than 100 devotees braved the heat to join the procession through the Sinapalu streets and pay tribute to the farmer’s patron San Isidro Labrador.
And of course after the Eucharistic Mass, the celebration was followed by potluck dinner, dance and music entertainment.
“It was a very moving public celebration of our faith,” said parish priest Reverend Father Isidro Ogumoro.
