We have a lot to celebrate over at Karidat. This summer we moved our main office to a new location and the new Sister Remedios Community Center was created!
We are thrilled to invite the public to join us as we showcase the expansions to our space and the other transformations within that building (the former Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center), as well as an opportunity to learn about each of the programs Karidat operates.
On Friday, October 19th from 3pm to 5pm we welcome everyone to join us for a blessing of the building and to celebrate the birth of the new Sister Remedios Community Center, located at Chalan Kanoa Drive, just south of Mt. Carmel Cathedral. The blessing is scheduled to take place at 4pm and all are welcome to join in to help us mark this momentous occasion.
This building which has a central place in the heart of our community and which served so many over the years is now in its “third life,” and still in service to the people of our islands.
Karidat occupies the office space on the ground floor of the building, and the larger space has allowed us to designate private spaces for individual and/or group counseling and conferencing. In addition, a large common area has been set aside for use by outside groups and is available to rent for group trainings on an as-needed basis.
The upstairs level of the building has offices for Marianas Behavioral Health Inc, the Pacific Ombudsman for Humanitarian Law, and the CNMI Drug Court is set to occupy the last available unit.
In keeping with their loving and faithful involvement with the school, the Mercederian Sisters will be present with us on the 19th. Sister Stella MMB will be offering some of her signature refreshments for sale so please come prepared to support our local Mercederian Community in this way.
This is an exciting moment for us, come see how our vision has revitalized this historic landmark into our new office and community center!
