In order to respect our clients’ privacy, we cannot always share much about the individual cases which come our way.
We can’t tell you about hopes raised and then disappointments crashing down and collapsing all of that hopefulness.
We don’t often tell anyone at all the stories of staying after work late in order to meet needs, or how staff will carry around the anxiety of a certain client and fret and worry and pray until a “fix” comes through.
It’s not easy having a front-row seat to hardship and struggle, and it is even harder for our clients.
On our end, we don’t always get to see the “happily-ever-after endings.” Those are sometimes hidden in God, and in heaven, I suppose.
But every now and then, we see the end result of a project or effort begun and it is hard to describe the joy.
- A family who has been living in their car finds a suitable home.
- An abuse victim finds the strength to start over and live an independent and free life.
- A victim of trafficking gets the chance at a new start.
In these moments all the ups and down seem more than worthwhile.
Lauri always says that for that one person, the difference Karidat can make is an entire world of difference—for them it is a chance to live life almost in a new world, the improvements are so huge!
So thank you to all who continue to partner with us in joy and sorrow, and…all the downs and the ups!
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” – Romans 12:15
