The Marriage Encounter Weekend Is M.E. right for us?

Marriage Encounter Weekends are a special time for a married couple to escape from all distractions: work, kids, bills, and other pressures and concerns. When was the last time you had a weekend like that? The next CNMI Weekend takes place at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan from November 17-19 2017. Couples reside at the resort for the entire weekend to attend the communication workshop.

You may be thinking… Is M.E. right for us? M.E. is for married couples who realize that a good marriage requires attention and communication. No marriage is perfect but a husband and wife can continue to work on communication in their marriage to enhance all aspects of their relationship. Similar to work, sports or a favorite hobby, marriage also requires time and commitment to make it successful. Many people don’t hesitate to take lessons and spend hours of practice to improve their golf/tennis game, soccer skills, marathon times. We also attend professional development workshops and continuing education to enhance our professions. M.E. is for those who want to live in a healthy, happy marriage and not just settle for a so-so or unhappy marriage. A Weekend gives busy couples much needed time together to focus on each other and deepen their communication. After the Weekend, couples often return to their lives and families, refreshed, with renewed commitment to each other.

How does the M.E. Weekend work? The M.E. Weekend is a series of presentations made by the Presenting Team, consisting of 3 married couples and 1 priest. Each presentation builds on the last as we examine ourselves, our behaviors and attitudes, our relationship with our spouse and God. Communication tools are taught on the weekend helping couples connect in healthy, constructive ways on areas that can deepen their intimacy and connectedness. Weekends are for husband and wife couples of all denominations and mixed faiths. Among the diverse couples attending we’ve had a variety of Protestant faiths, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim and no faith affiliation to name a few. All have successfully been able to fully experience the Weekend.

Marriage Encounter Weekends have been given in the CNMI since 1980’s. Decades of research, planning and tried and true wisdom have gone into the content of the Weekend and how it unfolds for couples and religious. We ask all participants to attend ALL talks and participate intently using the tools with their Spouse in order to maximize their experience.

All sharing between spouses is PRIVATE, and this is NOT a weekend to solve problems!   This Weekend will help couples in good marriages communicate even better.

Often ME shares that ideal Weekend couples are those going through life transitions: recently married, expanding the family, job transitions, blended families, Empty-nesters or couples facing retirement or illnesses. These are times when compassionate communication and listening matter the most!

The Weekend will begin around 8pm on Friday, continuing all day Saturday and Sunday, culminating in a special event Sunday afternoon. Participants are asked to have dinner on Friday evening prior to Registration, and arrange coverage for their family members and pets Friday afternoon through late Sunday afternoon.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter makes all hotel and food arrangements on behalf of confirmed Couples and Priests on the Weekend. All that is needed to secure your spot on a Weekend is a non-refundable Application Fee of $100. If couples are unable to fund the $100, M.E. will not turn any couple away as we will find generous sponsors to pay the Fee. To participate in the November 17-19, 2017 Weekend at the Fiesta Resort, please email cnmime@gmail.com or call Joe & Linda Muña, Spring Weekend Registration Couple at 2872102. Space is limited to the first 15 couples only.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter is faithful to the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching that marriage is a covenant that exists between one man and one woman. Any reference to marriage or couple made by WWME is in this context.
